5. When applying the leave-in products should the hair be wet or dry?

When applying Hydra Curl Leave-in Moisturiser or CURL CTRL® Defining Crème, start with wet freshly washed hair. Ensure the hair remains evenly dampened down the entire way through your application process, using a water spray if necessary. When applying Curl Refresher Leave-in Revitaliser, dampen down the hair 50-60% with a water spray for best results. (The hair needs to be thoroughly damp but not saturated/dripping.)

6. How do I layer or mix Hydra Curl and CURL CTRL® together for varied curl results?

These two products are designed to be layered or mixed together to create unique, happy curls!

Layering the products
For intense hydration and shine therapy, spread a small amount of Hydra Curl Leave-in moisturiser through hands and apply throughout blot-dried hair. Leave-in.

Apply CURL CTRL® Defining Crème section-by-section from roots to ends. Distribute evenly using an appropriate comb/detangling brush to eliminate frizz. Twist each curl with fingers and scrunch curls up towards the roots as you complete each layer. Allow hair to air-dry naturally, under gentle heat or lightly diffuse dry.

Experiment with different applications, brushes and combs, or vary your sectioning, drying and separating techniques to find the perfect combination for your curls.

Mixing them together
By varying the ratios of CURL CTRL® and Hydra Curl mixed together, you can create anything from soft natural curls to strong firm curls. When wanting to create a scrunch dried, lived in curl with hold, curl definition, curl separation and bounce, mix Hydra Curl Leave-in Moisturiser & CURL CTRL® Defining Crème together.

After applying Hydra Curl Leave-in Moisturiser evenly throughout the hair, mix equal amounts of Hydra Curl and CURL CTRL® together in the palm of your hand (appropriate amount of product relevant to hair length & thickness). Rub hands together, apply to mid-lengths and ends, then rub hands together again and glaze over roots to mid-lengths.

Use a wet brush or wide-tooth comb to distribute product evenly. Scrunch hair up towards the roots, and allow to fall naturally.

Allow to dry naturally or use a hairdryer with a diffuser on low speed and high heat to dry. (You can also use a scarf or hair net to keep the curls lifted and dried into place, this will give you a little more volume.)

Once your curls are dried, you can push and pull at your curls, lifting from the roots to create volume and different shapes to your hair without losing your curls.

7. Can I re-activate my curls between wash days?

Yes, you can reactivate the product already in the hair by using a blowdryer with a diffuser. (You do not need to re-wet the hair or use more product).

As an option, you can use a scarf or hair net to wrap up and encapsulate, your curls. Then, use a blowdryer and diffuser on low speed and high heat for approximately 5mins. This softens and reactivates the product already in the hair, giving a fresh look and revitalising shine.

8. How do I boost the moisture in curly hair with the Curly Solution?

Boost the moisture by using the Soft Touch Conditioning Treatment. Leave on for 30 mins, rinse with cooler water until the hair has that slight silky feel to it. Then add your Hydra Curl Leave-in Moisturiser, distribute evenly with wide comb or wet brush and follow with CURL CTRL® Defining Crème.

9. Can I use Hydra Curl If I have already applied CURL CTRL®?

Yes it’s fine to add Hydra curl for extra moisture to the ends if needed. Between washes, if the ends become a little fly away, you can add more Hyrda Curl to pump up the moisture. If the ends are lacking moisture or if you are needing more hold on the ends, add more CURL CTRL®.

10. What are some product tips for fine hair?

Start by using a small amount of the Hydra Curl Leave-in Moisturiser along with mixing in a smaller amount of CURL CTRL® Defining Crème. This will give you a lighter weight result. Avoid using too much product and overloading the hair.

11. What are some product tips for coarse hair?

Be more generous with product application. Use more CURL CTRL® Defining Crème, mixing with a smaller amount of Hydra Curl Leave-in Moisturiser. This will give you more hold, control and curl definition.

12. What do you recommend for thick and thirsty 3b type curls?

The tip is to find the perfect mixing ratio of Hydra Curl Leave-in Moisturiser & CURL CTRL® Defining Creme.
If you need more moisture, then use more of the Hydra Curl & Less of the CURL CTRL®. If you need more hold, then mix more CURL CTRL® with Less of the Hydra Curl.

13. Is curly range suitable for kids' curly hair?

Absolutely! The curly solution is suitable for all ages and curl types. It’s especially good for helping with all those tangles and giving the moisture needed to those gorgeous curls!

14. Is the Curly solution suitable for keratin treated hair & hair extensions?

Yes, the CPR Curly Solution and all CPR Products are suitable for keratin treated hair & hair extensions.

15. Is the Curly solution 'curly girl method' approved?

In short yes!

We have 58 years experience developing and manufacturing haircare products for the Australian market. We created the curly solution with our expertise and through our rigorous testing procedures and we know our products work! If using the curlsbot ingredient checker you may find some of our ingredients are flagged as non-soluble, however, this is not accurate as it only reports on individual raw components not on advanced blends where these combinations create a new ingredient that is water-soluble and rinses out easily.

We have found that the curlsbot ingredient checker is also limited in it's understanding of function in regards to certain ingredients such as Cyclopentasiloxane which, given the suffix, identifies this ingredient as silicone that may cause build-up. Instead Cyclopentasiloxane will evaporate entirely from the hair and provides many lasting benefits for curly hair. The curly solution adheres to the same theory and principles set by the curly girl method.

17. Can I purchase the Curly solution from outside of Australia / New Zealand?

At this stage CPR Curly solution is only available in Australia and New Zealand. We are planning to set up distributors around the world, so stay tuned!

18. Is there a reason the Curly Sulphate free shampoo has a white ‘pop top’?

When creating the CPR Curly solution we aim to make amazing products that are also very functional. We included the white pop top in the shampoo so you can easily see difference between the shampoo and conditioner. We also selected bottles that can easily be turned upside down in the shower, making it easy to get the last bit out of the bottle so there is no wastage, money well spent.

19. What is the fragrance?

We call it ‘Curl fresh’. Our own unique fragrance blend designed specifically for our curly solution.
